Bonfire Night
I was recently asked to take some pictures for the local paper. Each year the Twyford Round Table organise a large bonfire / firework night. A tradition for over 30 years, the event has now grown and today includes a large bonfire, spectacular firework display, BBQ stand, tented bar and fun fair. This year the event was on October 31st so had a Halloween theme.
The Twyford Advertiser (the local paper) wanted to cover the event so approached me to take photographs to be published in the paper.
On Saturday morning I awoke to a down pour, and thought that the event would be a wash out. But as the day went on so the weather improved. By 5:30 it was perfect with a crisp clear night. So I grabbed my camera bag and headed out.
It was great walking amongst the crowds looking for interesting shots. I know that the paper likes photographs of people, so concentrated on children dressed in Halloween costume, crowds around the bonfire and general activities. I also took a number of the fireworks, all hand held. The one selected was a composite of four separate images.
Below you can see which images the paper selected (click here for larger images).

All in all, a fun evening, loads of shots and lots of money raised for local charities.
